Saturday ~ Week 2

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves.”

~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Happy magical inward bound weekend

....and happy super new moon in Taurus!

Here's today's poddy
Sacha Jones, approx 14 minutes

To begin... breathe deeply, relax your shoulders, and soften all the places. Feel your feet beneath you. Spread out your toes and fingers. Twirl your wrists and ankles. Grow tall in your posture. Unclench the tight places and as you assess your inner weather, do a few bees breaths or hums... and invite a little sweetness in.

Spring is such a beautiful season to cleanse and release the heaviness of winter, and in many ways this comes quite organically. We've been doing really great work thus far to bring in new nourishing food and habits, while simultaneously letting go of that which we don’t need right now. This weekend we go all in.

Yesterday I was speaking to the idea of using more and more loving language to and about ourselves. (Not just the absence of negative speak) ~ and how this might really help bring about more healing.

It’s still something I'm mulling, but I woke up this morning thinking about how that inner mean girlmight well have been initiated from the outside ~ from parents, grandparents, babysitters, siblings, classmates, as well as more abstract messaging (hello, patriarchy!)... which we then internalized. In other words, it’s not our fault, but now it’s time for a truly radical, rebellious blast of joyful appreciative, sweet and loving (matriarchal) shift… and it starts inwardly!!

So hello you lovely, adorable, funny, sweet, sassy, smart, divine, magical, creative, sparkly love-dove… I really want you to embrace all the love* for yourself… and as we dive into this weekend, bring it on in heavy doses.

*it’s actually limitless, it’s a Mary Poppins bag of love… the more you give yourself, the more you have for others, it’s truly magical!!!

Oh and if you accidentally let those pesky old mean words in, take a moment to ask yourself where they may have originated, and say "no thank you, you aren't the boss of me so vamoosh, skedaddle, bye bye"! And quickly compensate with a blast of "thank you I love you, you are beautiful and magical!"

OK, getting practical..

Liquid Nourishment ~

If you’re liquid-fasting today, try focusing on the soothing and nourishing qualities of your broth, green-juice, or/and tea. As you sip, visualize a cleansing/warming “waterfall” flowing within you. Imagine each sip feeding, healing and nourishing your inner ecosystem, like tending to your own garden. This kind of simple visualization is a gentle act of self-care ~ calming, grounding, and deeply rejuvenating. Enjoy the comfort. You may find yourself wanting to chew, or you may have a sensation that resembles hunger, even if you’re not physically hungry. This is natural; sometimes, our emotions create a hunger of their own. Breathe into these moments and gently remind yourself of your decision to be here, now. And pair all of the above with LOVE love love…

Movement ~

Pairing your liquid fast with gentle movements can enhance your experience: try torso twists, squats, breaths of joy, forward folds, wiggles, and brisk springy walks. Make your movement joyful and fun ~ invite your inner 5 year old and your inner Grandma wise elder to come out to play. Lots of inner cheer-leading please!

Active Rest ~
As well as getting some early nights and taking time to sit and be... think about all the wonderful ways you can include activerest: deep, conscious breathing with extended exhales; bees breath and humming; visualization (see yourself as nourished, strong, loved, safe and calm); seated meditation; “legs up the wall” pose; savasana; intentional silence; tending to your plants; star gazing; wishing upon the new moon and other new moon rituals; mindfulness (no matter what you’re doing, being present); spending alone time; Epsom salt baths; putting your phone on don't disturb (and in the other room while you sleep)…

Active Release ~

Sometimes letting it out is an active pursuit: saunas, creating/making, dancing, running, crying, yelling, laughing, journaling, twisting, talking…

The Spring Within ~

Spring invites a different kind of inward-bound journey than winter. Less hibernation, more sprouting. Especially paired with this Taurus super new moon, you might really want to clear space ~ in your body, in your wardrobe, the “attic” and/or storage spaces… now is a very good time to assess what you can release.

But clutter isn’t just stuff ~

It can be emotional weight, old stories we keep retelling, habits we outgrew but never quite released. Some of it might not even be yours ~ it could very well be inherited, ancestral, or stuff you've absorbed along the way. You are allowed to put it down. You're encouraged to let it go.

(If you haven't yet, I encourage you to revisit the gentle wisdom in Ann Patchett’s beautiful article on letting go. Let her wise words guide you.

Reflective Prompts ~

What would you love to make space for?
What are some things that no longer serves you?

What are you willing to shed?

Other Stuff ~

Remember to make cleaning and clearing ritualistic and playful, rather than thinking of it as a chore. Dress up, play music, dance your way through it all... For today:
Clear one surface completely.

Change your bedsheets and stuff.

Get yourself fresh flowers or a sprig of something green.

Part with five things that no longer work for you.

Unsubscribe from 5-10 newsletters that no longer light you up (not Sacha Jones Holistics!)

Go to your phone settings and put a maximum time on your social media apps.

Sweep and mop outside and inside your front door. Wipe down the door and the door handle and make sure the door opens smoothly and easily, that nothing is blocking it.

Use a different burner on your stove than you habitually use.

Clean one window and one mirror.

Set a nine minute timer for you to wiggle, dance, stretch, move, breathe, lift some weights…

And just for fun, if during your clearing you come across a postcard, some stationary, a magazine-cutting or image you've been holding on to, create a piece of snail mail with it, and send it to someone randomly.

I hope you will fully immerse yourself this weekend, prioritizing love and kindness to yourself. Be gentle and loving and complimentary and playful with yourself. (And if you have to work, or are busy, or have care-taking responsibilities, remember to steal moments to look at something beautiful, to sip some lovely herbal tea, and say lovely things to yourself).

Sip, smile, breathe, aaaah!!!

With only love, love, and more love,

Sacha xxx
