Yoga
I have been practicing yoga since 1997 and it remains one of my favorite ways to move my body and get out of my head. On my mat I remember my breath and am fully present. If I don’t start my day with even a short practice, I notice it all day long - something feels “off” and I am more likely to feel stiff by the end of the day.
Across the years, my practice has changed a lot and I have practiced with many different teachers - I used to frequent 75-90 minute classes but these past couple of years, with covid and my hand accident I exclusively (for now) have a home practice, mostly via YouTube.
Every morning Mike and I unroll our mats and practice. I am happy to say that my practice is getting stronger again - post accident and for a long time afterwards, I was very limited - a little every day really can get us where we want to go. Edit - 2.5 years post accident and my practice is stronger and more flexible than ever.
I recommend yoga for everybody and for every kind of body. There’s so much range and diversity within yoga, that there truly is something for each one of us - from “power” yoga, to chair yoga, to hot yoga, to partnered yoga, to “hands free” yoga, to yin yoga… and so much in between.
I wanted to share some of our favorite YouTube teachers here. Explore their pages for yourself, or go to YouTube yourself and type in the kind of yoga you are looking for - how long, what your level is… etc. There is SO much content available, soon you will find your teachers, the ones who speak to you.
If you are new to yoga, you might also consider joining a local in-person yoga community, or taking live online classes, or working one-on-one with a teacher.

Minimal Cues:
For the experienced yogi, you might enjoy a minimal cue class - where the teacher says the name of the pose but no other chit chat or instruction,
Here is a 30 minute minimal cues class with Kassandra that we like a lot (for experienced yogis):
