Monday ~ Week 3

Good morning lovely

Welcome to our third week together.

(I am not sure why, but when I pasted this below, it has randomly underlined words… besides the Dr Douillard article, these are not links or points of emphasis, just a weird website glitch that I can’t seem to mend)

Here's Today's Poddy

I hope you've had a lovely and gentle weekend and that you're able to greet this Monday morning feeling rejuvenated and with an extra spring in your step. I like to think of today as still being a part of the inward bound adventure, keeping one foot very much planted in that gentle, slower moving, nourishing energy of the past few days. Even if you're right back to commuting and office politics (or whatever Monday typically looks like for you)... inside yourself you can maintain a state of calm as you continue to utilize your conscious breathing and bee breaths while whispering kind and loving affirmations. (In this article Dr. John Douillard talks about nose breathing for athletes/while running, as a way of reminding your body it's not an emergency. This idea can very much apply to the stresses of everyday life, even when life is hectic and deadlines are looming and everything seems to be going wrong, we can tune into our breath and keep the nervous system calm).

Let's take a moment now to breathe and stretch, imagine your inhales inviting in love, love, love and your exhales as filtering out what you don't need right now.

Week three serves as a gentle invitation to hone our craft. Using the remainder of our time together now, we are going to gather everything we’ve gleaned thus far, and really make sure to incorporate it into our daily lives ~ as routine, ritual, discipline (whichever wording you prefer). This is also a lovely time to introduce a few new things, simply as a way of staying engaged and present.

But also (as the quote above suggests) this is the moment to embrace your journey with a sense of awe and wonder ~ to embrace and admire (and maybe even show off) your magic, your sparkle, your delightful essence. You are indeed the architect of your dreams. You are also the author, the interior designer, the landscape artist, the cheerleader ... of your own becoming.

Believing in your own potential is such an important part of true wellness.

So today, as we wrap up the inward bound adventure "weekend" I invite you to sit with these thoughts. Through journaling, meditation, mindful movement and/or conversation, think about the adventure you would like to set off on next. What does your "narrative of courageous self love" look like? Even if that feels very blurry, start to paint for yourself an outline, a rough sketch, and see what wants to emerge.

One helpful practice is visualization. Take a moment to envision yourself as your healthiest, most vibrant self: energized, grounded, and fully present. Imagine waking refreshed each morning, moving gracefully through your day with calm and clarity. Beyond the physical, envision your future self living your dreams ~ taking inspired action, feeling fulfilled, and aligned.

And then take a moment in reflection. Look back on all of your amazing accomplishments across the course of these past three weeks. What has felt nourishing? What has made you feel strong? What are you looking to develop further? What are you excited about?

Tomorrow we will explore in more detail the idea of creating non-negotiable daily disciplines for ourselves, to help us get closer to where we want to go. Today is a day to mull it all over.

Bonus little tip for self love moments: As we know here, the little things are the big things. A vase of fresh flowers, for example, serves as a lovely reminder that we are deserving of nice things. This week, think about a collection of tiny acts that you can bring into your life... like little winks of self appreciation. For example... in our home we keep a few rose quartz and amethyst stones in our water pitcher, and I use a heart shaped rose quartz Gua sha stone for my face. Rose quartz represents unconditional love, compassion and emotional healing and amethyst represents clarity, inner peace and spiritual wisdom. I love infusing our water with love and peace as a reminder to think kind thoughts when I pour myself a glass ~ and even though I don't actually know how to properly use a Gua sha stone ~ in those few moments when I pass it across my face, I'm reminded to be sweet and kind to myself, instead of critical and nit-picky. These really are tiny things, but as part of the Love Fest for Self collective, well I am pretty certain it all adds up to "more than the sum of their parts".

Lots more to explore tomorrow!

Reminder ~ last zoom room tomorrow at 12:30pm EST.

Love love love
