Sunday ~ Week 3
“When the old ache arrives, I remind it that we live differently now. We eat, we rest, we ask for help. We do not build altars to what hurt us. We build mornings around sunlight and the sound of our own name said kindly. The ache learns its place and I learn mine.”
~ Izzie Babea
Hello there lovely friend,
And happy Sunday… I am aware this is landing in your inbox in the midst of a bank holiday weekend (the one that kicks off the spirit of summer, if not quite officially a new season) ~ so you may not even be reading this until next week. But if I have grabbed your attention, I hope that amidst the festivities and the yard-sales you will still remember to make space for yourself: for some sweet self devotion, quiet gratitude and nourishing choices.
Allow your shoulders to soften away from your ears, take a moment to breathe and hum. Relax your body, relax your mind.
It’s time now to check in on the “seeds” you planted three weeks ago. Some may be sprouting now, others already fully in bloom, and others yet, still just below the soil. Are there seeds that need a little extra nurturing now? What intentions did you plant on day one? What has grown since then? What surprised you? Have any “weeds” popped up?
As we get ready to step off our mats now, I recommend putting as many things in place as possible, to keep yourself present. The class may be ending but the nourishment is here to stay.
It’s a good time to change your sheets and towels, make a menu plan for the week ahead (perhaps even do some batch cooking), spruce up your home a little bit, get some fresh flowers ~ and as the day comes to a close, invite in some reflection. I recommend scheduling this time, so you can still get into bed nice and early.
Lie in savasana, do a full body scan: internally and externally, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Breathe and hum and soften.
Then light a candle and spend some cozy moments writing in your journal. Perhaps start off by writing today’s opening quote and breathe into those sentiments and personalize it a little.
Honour each nourishing choice: every conscious breath, every glass of water, every pause, hum, stretch, and home prepared meal. (It’s also absolutely fine to look at what didn’t quite go to plan and what you didn’t get to, as long as you do so with kind curiosity and non-judgement: information not failure)
And finally, come up with a couple of new intentions to take with you into the upcoming new week.
Remember, you are a vibrant, resilient, rebellious, marvelous, sassy, divine, upstream-swimming, wellness warrior! And I love you!
Keep going. Keep glowing. Keep growing.
And I will see you back here tomorrow ~
Meanwhile, have a lovely, lovely Sunday….
Dance, wiggle, breathe, play and have some fun!
With love, love love and so much love and gratitude,
Sacha
