Sacha’s Insomniac monkey smoothie

This is a good recipe to enjoy in the evening about 3-4 hours before you would ideally like to be falling asleep.  It's very filling and makes a good dinner replacement. it's so quick and easy to make, which is perfect if you are tired from not getting much sleep or working too much.

2-4 servings.

  • 2 bananas (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 avocado, stone and skin removed

  • 1 ½  cups non dairy, un-sweetened milk of choice

  • 2-4 cups of chopped spinach or other greens

  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla paste (or extract)

  • 3 or 4 tablespoons chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon bee pollen(optional)

  • 1 tablespoon pure peanut-only peanut butter* (optional)

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed for about a minute until it's smooth and ready to drink.

Notes:

Nutmeg is very effective for helping you sleep but it takes some time to work, so try to enjoy this a few hours before bed time.

** Oatstraw is really calming and i recommend always having a pot
