Chicken Bone Broth

If you have an instant pot, you can make a chicken bone  broth in a couple of hours (plus cool down time). Otherwise you can make it stove top in 8-12 hours (some people cook it longer).

 

We like to save our chicken bones in the freezer until we are ready to make a broth.  

 

Put the bones in the instant pot (or heavy stove top pot) - cover with water, add some herbs and veggies scraps (also saved in the freezer) and cook. A broth or stock is really an opportunity to use up what you have (and to add flavours you like).  So feel free to experiment.

 

With all broths, I recommend adding a little fresh lemon or lime juice when you consume it.
